UCSD Layoff from Career Appointment : Apply by 11/14/23 for consideration with preference for rehire.Under supervision of the Custodial Supervisor 1, use manual and powered floor care equipment to clean and maintain hard, resilient, carpeted and specialty floors throughout UC San Diego Recreation facilities including, but not limited to: floors in hallways, lobbies, mechanical spaces, fitness spaces, restrooms, locker rooms, offices, conference rooms, auditoriums, gymnasiums, lounges, common areas, and stairways.Strip, seal, wax, refinish, scrub, burnish, polish, buff and spray buff hard and resilient floors using proper chemical mixtures, floor care equipment and personal protective equipment.Polish metal and stainless steel fixtures and handrails.Dust, clean and/or wax cabinets, desks, furnishings, conference tables, wall wood paneling and other woodwork.Lock doors and windows for building security and lock unoccupied areas/offices after cleaning.Demonstrated experience in operating, storing and maintaining the following equipment including but not limited to: vacuum cleaner, floor scrubber, buffers, high pressure washer, carpet cleaning machines (shampoo, extract, pile lift), wet/dry vacuums, extractors, floor scrubbing and/or polishing machines, scissor lift and electrostatic sprayers.Demonstrated experience in floor care, including wood (gymnasium and dance floors), tile, concrete surfaces and carpet care.
