GPMS AFCENT: Munition Technician (Contingency Hire)

Location(s): Doha, Qatar, Abu Dhabi, UAE, Thumrait AB, Oman

POSITION SUMMARY: Munitions Technician performs munitions production and material tasks and activities. Munition Technicians will identify the munitions and equipment requirements for situations. Munition Technicians also operates and maintains automated data processing equipment (ADPE) to deliver munitions accounting, computations, and research. Munitions Technicians are tasked with storing, maintaining, assembly, and the issuing and delivery of assembled non-nuclear munitions. Munition Technicians operate and maintain munitions material handling equipment (MMHE) and develop and implement munitions materiel management concepts and procedures. Munition Technicians complies with the explosive, missile, and ground safety, security, and environmental directives and practices.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Receive, store, handle, and transport non-nuclear munitions
  • Unloads and unpacks munitions
  • Checks shipping documents for accuracy
  • Delivers munitions to assembly, storage, or maintenance areas
  • Prepares munitions for shipment
  • Determines and maintains storage facilities, reports, safety, and security requirements
  • Performs inspections and maintains inspection and storage records

MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:

  • Use of Land Mobile Radios, cell phones, laptop, and other devices to maintain contact and accountability of work activities.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

  • Work will be indoors and outdoors.
  • Exposure to heat, cold, dust, noise, may occur.
  • Overtime and shift work may be required depending on contractual needs.
  • Employee must comply with all Federal, State and Local regulations and published Company work rules as well as written instructions.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:

  • Day-to-day physical requirements may involve standard office activities including sitting/standing for extended periods of time, attending meetings, use of keyboard and mouse repetitively, lifting and carrying less than 20 lbs. frequently, etc.
  • Work requires moderate physical exertion including walking to operating areas and walking up stairs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certifications:

  • Must have a valid Passport and U. S. Driver's License.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English fluently.
  • USAF Armament Technical School or U.S. Service Equivalent.
  • US Secret Clearance required or able to obtain

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in WRM Munitions storage and reconstitution.
  • Experience in performing functions such as warehousing, accounting, mechanical assembly, electronics, construction, transportation of munitions, use of hand tools, and preparing and maintaining documentation and records for inventory management actions involving manual or automated systems or both.
