Leadership Opportunity: Fellowship Program Director for Interventional Psychiatry
Banner University Medical Center in Phoenix is currently seeking to appoint an academic Interventional Psychiatrist at the Associate Professor or Professor level to establish and lead an interventional psychiatry fellowship program as Program Director, within the Department of Psychiatry (University of Arizona). The successful candidate will have a strong track record of original scholarship, clinical excellence, and experience administering an interventional psychiatry service. Interventional modalities include ECT, TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulation), and ketamine infusion. This is an exceptional leadership opportunity to be a be fellowship director and build an interventional psychiatry fellowship program within the Department of Psychiatry in an actively growing and developing college.
Along with program development, the selected individual will have the opportunity to advance the clinical practice of interventional psychiatry patients within a richly diverse population. This position will entail significant academic and administrative responsibilities, including administering a clinical service, directing a fellowship program, teaching and supervising fellows, residents, and students. The successful candidate will divide their clinical and academic responsibilities within a dynamic and growing research-oriented department which has substantial NIH funding. Clinical services are provided at the Banner University Medical Center in Phoenix. An evidenced enthusiastic commitment to clinical and didactic teaching is desired.
The qualified candidate will receive a faculty appointment at the University of Arizona consistent with their credentials.
Position Details:
Daily Patient Average: 8 (combination in-person and telehealth visits)Providers in Practice: 9Administering and supervising interventional psychiatry modalitiesSignificant academic and administrative responsibilities:Administering a clinical adult outpatient serviceDirecting a 1-year fellowship program, with 1-2 fellows per yearTeaching and mentoring of fellows, residents, and studentsParticipation in department meetings and grand roundsCollaboration with psychiatrists (including consult liaison) and psychologists to co-manage patientsProtected research/scholarship timePaid Weekend Call (can be taken from home, approx. 12 times a year)FTE (80% Clinical/20% Academic), Monday-Friday, 8-5) Minimum Qualifications:Psychiatry Certified by the ABPN5+ years of experience as an Interventional PsychiatristFellowship-trained in Interventional PsychiatryDesire to pursue original scholarship and teaching in the field of interventional psychiatryA track record of peer-reviewed publications and external funding are preferredDemonstrated leadership skills and experience building a fellowship program are preferred Primary Location: Banner - University Medical Center Phoenix, 1111 E.
