Exercises overall supervisory responsibility for the management and direction of clinical services. Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work.

Identifies developmental and training needs of employees, providing or arranging for needed development and training; Finds ways to improve production or increase the quality of the work directed; Develops performance standards.

Evaluating subordinate supervisors or leaders and serving as the reviewing official on evaluations of nonsupervisory employees rated by subordinate supervisors; Making or approving selections for subordinate nonsupervisory positions.

In conjunction with the 2 Supervisory Physicians (Administration), also known as 2 Deputy Chief Medical Officers (DCMO), works with nursing leadership to assure efficient, effective, high quality clinical care services.

Responsible for the diagnosis, care and treatment of inpatients, ambulatory care patients, and emergency cases in the capacity of a staff physician.

Interviews and examines patients, reviews past medical history, and requests and/or performs diagnostic tests and examinations deemed necessary to obtain all possible information related to each case.

Make preliminary diagnosis, directs, prescribes or provides treatment, or arranges for specialized care or patient referral as required
