Summary

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Duties

This is an open continuous announcement until July 19, 2024. Qualified applicants will be considered and referred as vacancies become available.

Psychiatry is a medical specialty focused on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of psychiatric mental, addictive, and emotional disorders. Core competencies include possessing sound clinical judgment, requisite skills, and a high order of knowledge about the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of all psychiatric disorders, together with other common medical and neurological disorders that relate to the practice of psychiatry. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Provide psychiatric consultation and treatment for inpatients with medical problems. Consultation includes evaluation, interpretation, diagnosis, and management of psychiatric illnesses in any care site.
  • Order diagnostic tests, imaging examinations, and/or diagnostic procedures.
  • Examine, diagnose, and treat and manage outpatients as assigned.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm
