Job Summary:

This Intern position works to support IT and Business initiatives on the Solutions Delivery team. This position offers opportunities to be exposed to technological and business processes for Finance/Actuarial departments. They must be a detailed oriented person who enjoys problem solving and finding solutions. This role requires engaging with business users, translating their needs, and reporting findings to the team to collaborate on solutions. Typical project tasks would include documenting user stories, defining business requirements, generating and executing test cases for initiatives based on the project methodology. Organizational and communication skills are crucial to successful performance in this position.

Main Accountabilities:
  • Provide support for data projects from start to finish (analysis, data integration, reporting). Must maintain focus on designing solutions that balance system flexibility, accuracy, and fast processing time.
  • Communicates changes, enhancements, and modifications of business requirements - verbally or through written documentation - to project managers, sponsors, and other stakeholders so that issues and solutions are understood.
  • Maintains a positive working relationship with multiple areas within the company including but not limited to Information Technology, Investments, Accounting, Actuarial and Annuity Administration.
  • Creates user stories and business requirements to support development.
  • Documents and executes end-to-end tests as part of the overall build and deployment lifecycle to support releases.
Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate students completing their sophomore or junior year preferred.
  • Availability to work full-time hours over the summer.
  • Familiar with Insurance industry, specifically Investments, Accounting, Actuarial and/or Annuity Administration
  • Ability to clearly articulate complex information to others.
  • Detail oriented with strong focus on quality of deliverables.
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively identify and solve problems and issues of all types.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Ownership and accountability for deliverables.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team.
  • Strong written and communication skills.Ability to establish positive relationships and work effectively with any department.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint)
  • Familiar with database development, SQL, and analysis tools (Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio, Azure Data Studio, PowerBI, Visio)
  • Familiar with SDLC and/or Agile scrum in a technical environment (Jira)
