Comprehensive Ophthalmologist

NorthShore University HealthSystem (NorthShore), the principal academic affiliate of the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, seeks an outstanding Comprehensive Ophthalmologist to join the Department of Surgery, Division of Ophthalmology.

NorthShore s state-of-the art Eye and Vision Center is the largest multi-specialty Ophthalmology group on the north shore of Chicago. Join a team comprised of dedicated faculty that provide a multitude of patient services in all ophthalmic subspecialties. This consists of 17 Ophthalmologists and Optometrists, including 9 Comprehensive Ophthalmologists, most with subspecialty training. Our supporting staff is outstanding, dedicated, and well trained. The Medical Group utilizes Epic for medical records.

The ideal candidate would be board certified or board eligible in Ophthalmology with excellent clinical and surgical skills, an ability to connect with patients, and a desire to teach Ophthalmology residents, interns, and medical students. Fellowship training is preferred, but not required. Clinical research is also encouraged but not required. The appropriate academic appointment will be provided based on the candidate s qualifications. The position would entail clinic responsibilities at our Skokie and Swedish hospital locations. The call for the clinic and the emergency department is evenly distributed among colleagues.
