The Role

Under general direction, HSSE Coordinator is responsible for the implementation of company safety policies and environmental health & safety support. The HSSE Coordinator is responsible for coaching field operations, sales team members, and office staff to exhibit behaviors and work processes that create a safe work environment.

This position is a cross-functional leadership role and will report to the Director of Health, Safety, Security and Environmental (HSSE) while working closely with the other departments.

We are looking for an experienced and responsible HSSE Coordinator to join our team. As a HSSE Coordinator, you will be responsible for facilitating compliance with occupational health and safety (OSHA) guidelines. Your main goal will be to always ensure safe working environment and prevent any injuries and accidents.

Responsibilities:

  • Enforce corporate compliance regulations (CCR) and occupational health and safety (OSHA) policies and programs.
  • Advise and lead employees on various safety-related topics.
  • Prepare and conduct monthly safety meetings and trainings.
  • Adhere to all safety rules and regulations.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement corrective actions.
  • Respond to incidents and accidents.
  • Perform incident investigations and root cause analyses (RCAs).
  • Prepare and present reports on accidents and violations to determine their causes.
  • Conduct safety audits, safety observations, and safety walks.
  • Enforce preventative measures to ensure workplace safety.
  • Identify process bottlenecks and provide timely solutions.
  • Ensure all employees comply with safety rules and regulations.
  • Oversee workplace repairs, installations, and other activities that could impact employee safety.
  • Teaching supervisors, managers, and other leaders in the company about health and safety standards

Requirements and Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience as an HSSE professional or in a similar role within a field-based work environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of potentially hazardous materials and practices.
  • Familiarity with data analysis and statistical reporting.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Working knowledge of safety management information systems.
  • Outstanding organizational skills.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Team player with good time-management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Certification in occupational health and safety (OSHA 500 preferred).
  • Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time.
  • Solar construction experience preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices
  • Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Working knowledge of safety management information system

  • Team player
  • Good time-management skills
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills
  • Certificate in construction health and safety (OSHA 510 preferred)

Location: Remote in either North Carolina or South Carolina
