Position Summary:


The HR Generalist position will focus on total rewards (benefits and compensation, leaves of absence), compliance and HRIS systems administration.

As a part of the HR team, this role will also assist in HR Generalist duties such as employee relations, policy design, communication of information on employee programs, and coordination of special events.

Responsibilities

HR Generalist Job Responsibilities:

  • Total Rewards:
  • Coordinates benefit plan designs with VP HR and broker.
Leads the annual enrollment process. Administers all benefits & retirement programs (medical, dental, vision, life, disability, ancillary and 401k) and processes annual enrollment or change requests for existing employees. Serves as liaison with outside benefits administrators, trustees or insurance companies. Intervenes if employees experience problems with vendors. Reviews compensation and makes recommendations for internal equity and market competitiveness using internal and external data. Informs the annual merit process and other proposed compensation changes. Manages employee leavesofabsence requests, working with our thirdparty administrator and providing expertise and support to the HR teams in our other locations. Assists employees with a benefits and leaverelated questions.

Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS): - Serves as the subject matter expert and main point of contact for HRIS technical support (currently UKG and iCIMS) - Oversees and maintains optimal functioning of the Company's HRIS including database management, maintenance, upgrades to the system or system modules, permissions, personalization and data security.

- Collaborates cross-functionally to identify needed system improvements to existing systems and/or recommends solutions to implement. Maintaining knowledge of trends in HR Technology platforms. - Creates and ensures accurate information of dashboards and reports. Compiles monthly standard data reporting. - Responds to information requests, automating solutions where possible. - Trains new HR employees in the use of the system. - Works closely with Finance/Payroll to ensure timely and accurate information.

Compliance:

  • Responsible for drafting policy documents, working with the VP of HR and legal counsel. Includes the annual update of the employee handbook.
  • Responsible for compliance reporting (EEO1, Vets 4212, OSHA, etc.).
  • Ensures the consistency and accuracy of employee notifications and postings.

Other Areas of Responsibility:

  • Assists with employee relations, investigations, onboarding and offboarding.
  • Supports a variety of HR responsibilities (LMS, recruitment, Affirmative Action, etc.) and is cross trained acts as a backup.
  • Maintains current and accurate information on the Human Resources Intranet page.
  • Participates in the Employee Committee, Wellness Committee, Safety Committee or the United Way Campaign as necessary.
Qualifications

Requires a bachelor's degree in human resources or business or equivalent, with 3-5 years of experience, including benefits, compensation and HRIS experience

Note:
equivalent education equals 2 years of closely related experience for 1 year of education. HR certification preferred.

Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
