BAE Systems Electronic Solutions is looking for a Program Engineering Manager (PEM) to lead engineering teams in order to achieve successful program execution. You will lead a multi-disciplinary engineering team charged to deliver and support critical mission capabilities. This role will be responsible for planning, staffing, budget, schedules, scope management, risk and opportunity management, and team coordination. You will coordinate with program managers to ensure all customer needs are met and will manage all aspects of the design, integration, test, and delivery of our products.
The position is located in the greater Manchester, NH, Nashua, areas and will require periodic travel to other BAE Systems facilities and potentially customer sites.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Engineering focal point for all activity within the projects including strategic planning, bid and proposal support for engineering content, engineering strategy and integrated plans on programs, engineering staffing, issue reporting, and risk and opportunity management.
  • Provide overall project technical leadership; plan, execute, and manage all engineering efforts within the project.
  • Partner and collaborate with program managers, functional engineering managers, subcontractors, customers, and factories to ensure program goals, requirements, and needs are understood and achieved.
  • Monitor project plans and execution to ensure technical and work scope requirements, schedule, and budget are well defined and maintained.
  • Ensure engineering efforts are planned and executed in accordance with company policies, procedures, processes, and best practices. Provide the coordination between the engineering team, functional managers, and Product Line Engineering Directors, to ensure all necessary reviews are conducted and approvals are received.
  • Ensure project and product safety are managed in accordance with company policies, procedures, processes, and best practices. Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Required Skills and Education

  • Eligible for a Top Secret clearance
  • Bachelors Degree and over 10 years of Engineering/technical experience
  • Experience in engineering development of complex electronic systems and the transition to manufacturing
  • Experience leading diverse multi-disciplinary teams in the solution of complex technical problems
  • Project engineering management including organizational design, planning, estimating, design management, and product verification
  • Strong team building skills that enable collaboration and coordination within and across teams and functions


Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Preferred Skills and Education

  • At least 4 years experience in Engineering leadership
  • Active Top Secret Security clearance and ability to obtain Special Access clearances
  • Experience leading EMD and/or Production programs
  • Project engineering management including organizational design, planning, estimating, design management, and product verification
  • Experience introducing automation into development and test to increase quality and lower costs
  • Experience using Design to Cost (DTC) methods; leading to technical solutions that meet affordability and producibility requirements


Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $ $239140
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
