Nurse (OR)

This is a Direct Hire Open Continuous Announcement for Nurse (Operating Room) for the Integrated Surgical Services at the Phoenix Indian Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona.

The incumbent will care for patients undergoing a surgical operation: eye surgery, ear, nose and throat; orthopedic, plastic and reconstructive; obstetrical and gynecological; thoracic, vascular and genitourinary surgical intervention.

• Performs pre-operative assessment and teaching for patient and families.
• Selects, prepares and processes supplies, instruments and special equipment for specific procedures; anticipating possible complications.
• Devises draping techniques and protocols for special or new procedures and techniques.
• Coordinates special needs with physicians and/or personnel of other departments to assure that continuity of care is provided. Accepts responsibilities as team leader and/or charge nurse as needed.
