Job Title: Acme Setup Technician

Responsibilities:

1. Machine Setup: Set up Acme screw machines for production runs by selecting and installing appropriate tooling, fixtures, and materials based on engineering drawings and specifications.
2. Tooling Selection: Choose and mount cutting tools, dies, and tool holders, ensuring proper alignment and adjustment for accurate machining.
3. Material Handling: Load raw materials into the machine and secure them for processing, making any necessary adjustments to accommodate various materials and sizes.
4. Programming: Input and modify machine parameters and program sequences as needed to achieve desired part dimensions and quality.
5. Quality Assurance: Verify and calibrate machine settings to ensure that parts produced meet strict quality standards and tolerances.
6. Tool Changes: Perform tool changes and adjustments as necessary during production runs to maintain accuracy and quality.
7. Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance, including lubrication, cleaning, and minor repairs, to keep Acme machines in optimal condition.
8. Documentation: Maintain detailed records of machine setup procedures, tool changes, production run data, and any issues encountered during setup or operation.
9. Safety: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment, including the proper use of personal protective equipment.
10. Collaboration: Work closely with production teams, machinists, engineers, and supervisors to coordinate setup activities and troubleshoot any issues that may arise. Qualifications:
11. High school diploma or equivalent.
12. Proven experience as an Acme Setup Technician or in a similar machining setup role.
13. Extensive knowledge of Acme screw machines, including setup, operation, and maintenance.
14. Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
15. Strong mechanical aptitude and precision in setup and adjustments.
16. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
17. Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods.
