As an intern you will participate in our nationwide Internship & Co-Op Program, LEAP, where you will have the opportunity to Learn, Engage, Apply, and Progress within the company. In this position, you will be supporting the Combat Mission Systems (CMS) Business at our Aiken, PA facility. This position will be onsite at our Aiken facility for our Summer 2024 season (May - August). Relocation will not be offered and housing is not provided. This position is expected to be Full Time (40 hours / week).

The Combat Vehicles line of business within the Platforms & Services (P&S) Sector of BAE Systems is looking for an intern who is pursuing an Industrial, Systems, or Process Engineering degree to support the assembly of armored military vehicles.

As an Industrial Engineering Intern, you will:
  • Apply basic engineering design and/or analytical theory, principles, techniques, and practices to a limited portion of technical projects
  • Use Microsoft Access, Excel, Visio and Project to set up, organize and analyze technical information
  • Provide support to create and maintain statements of work
  • Update plant drawings using AutoCAD
  • Support Continuous Improvement initiatives
  • Maintain a safe work environment and comply with safety policies and rules
  • Share responsibility for self-development with immediate supervisor
  • Work with full time Industrial Engineers and be required to utilize strong analytical and problem-solving skills to help improve material alignment and flow for established production lines

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Systems, Process or Mechanical Engineering or related field

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Juniors or Seniors Preferred
  • AutoCAD
  • Experience with time study software

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $ $54800

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.

Temporary employees generally are not eligible for BAE Systems benefits, but can elect to participate in the 401(k) savings plan. Temporary employees working 20+ hours per week are eligible for medical benefits, the employee assistance program, and business travel accident insurance.
