The Supervisor of Mental Health is responsible for planning, organizing and coordinating patient care activities.

Responsibilities

A day in the life of a Supervisor, Mental Health at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

  • Assure that requirements for certification, licensure and accreditation are met and maintained.
  • Available for individual case consultation on as needed basis.
  • Reviews clinical assessments, treatment plans and the clinical record as a whole and provides feedback to team members.
  • Works together with the program medical director to solve problems.
  • Maintains 'open door' policy for staff in order to voice complaints, concerns or ideas.
  • Regularly schedules and/or conducts team meetings, huddles.
  • Consults with and advises program manager of problems related to clinical operation within the program, documentation and adherence to BHS standards.
  • Coordinates and/or participates in community benefit activities such as health fairs and conferences.
  • Is an active participant in outside professional organizations as required/needed.
  • Functions as a clinician on a limited basis by completing intake assessments, carrying a caseload, providing individual counseling and facilitating groups weekly.
  • Observes clinician's performance during patient treatment and provides feedback to team members.
  • Supervises referrals for the program, setting intake appointments, troubleshooting issues with the call center.
  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
  • Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and
Abilities Required:

1. MSW, LCSW (will consider LSW with significant pre-Master's experience) - MA, LPC (will consider LAC with significant pre-Master's experience)

  • Minimum of 2 years Post Masters experience
Education, Knowledge, Skills and
Abilities Preferred:

1. Crisis and/or screening experience.

  • Previous supervisory experience is strongly preferred.
Licenses and Certifications Required:

1. LSW or LAC

  • LCSW or LPC
