Job Summary and QualificationsThe Unit Coordinator contributes to high quality, patient-centered care by performing a variety of clerical tasks. The Unit Coordinator functions as receptionist for the unit and assists the patient care team while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe environment.
- Greet patients and visitors in waiting areas, directing them to other departments, and keeping them informed of wait times.
- Promotes a positive, customer-oriented demeanor.
- Perform patient-centered secretarial tasks, such as physician order entry and creating, labeling, and organizing patient charts. Disassemble and file charts after discharge.
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Receives and directs all incoming calls and relays messages.
- 1 year of clerical experience in a hospital setting is preferred
- High school or GED required
- BLS - CPR Certification required
Situated in Portsmouth, NH, Portsmouth Regional Hospital is a premier 234-bed acute care facility that offers exceptional healthcare services to the Seacoast region of Massachusetts, Maine, and New Hampshire. This hospital is the sole ACS Verified Level II Trauma Center on the Seacoast of New Hampshire, making it an essential resource for the community. It boasts the regions only comprehensive heart and vascular program, along with 24/7 comprehensive neurosurgical and stroke clot retrieval programs for both hemorrhagic and ischemic strokes.
