Assistant Director of Admissions, K-12 Outreach

Reporting to the Director of Admissions and working collaboratively with team members, the Assistant Director of Admissions, K-12 Outreach will guide the admissions practices that introduce families to Sequoyah and promote application and enrollment.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced relationship-builder and team player who is committed to Sequoyah's mission, passionate about equity and access, and views the importance of first encounters all the way through enrollment as key to ensuring a powerful Sequoyah experience. The successful candidate will be a self-starter and culturally competent strategic thinker with a desire to learn from and with others. Collegiality, sense of humor, and enthusiasm for admissions and outreach work are a must. Ideal candidates will be proactive problem-solvers who can work independently and collaboratively as part of a joyful team.

Position Responsibilities

  • Advance and enhance outreach at strategic points of entry, specifically Kindergarten and 9th grade;
  • Promote Sequoyah through campus tours, presentations and events on campus and in the community, and school fairs;
  • Plan and coordinate logistics for high school open house, information sessions, campus tours, student visits/shadow days, yield events and celebrations;
  • Develop and cultivate relationships with local schools and community partners (ie. Alliance, KIPP, Private School Axis, Private School Village);
  • Advise parents and applicants of K-12 program benefits and admission requirements;
  • Organize high school application process, interviews, and review procedures;
  • Manage the international application process as Designated School Official (DSO);
  • Track inquiries, collect and analyze data, generate reports, and manage database;
  • Monitor school website content updates and online comments on review sites (Niche, GreatSchools, Private School Review);
  • Collaborate with Communications on social media marketing and other advertising efforts. Candidates who are bilingual or multilingual are strongly encouraged to apply. Evening and weekend work is required, along with travel to local feeder schools. The successful candidate will represent Sequoyah's values, culture, and programs in the community and on our campuses, including our commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. Preferred Qualifications and Skills
    • Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.
    • Relevant work experience, preferably in admissions at an independent school.
    • Experience with admissions-oriented platforms, such as Blackbaud.
