Job Description

The Account Manager will work directly with staff at client schools, both in and out of Pennsylvania, assisting with the management of their business office function under the direction of a member of Charter Choices' leadership team. This is a hands-on role that entails responsibility for the accurate recording of financial transactions and faithful implementation of internal controls, as well as effective communication with school staff and vendors for up-to four (4) schools. Specific tasks will vary with the client but may include

  • General ledger maintenance, including payroll journal entries, payables, receivables, banking, and maintenance of deferrals and accruals;
  • Communication with client stakeholders, including management, employees, and vendors;
  • Working with the Leadership Team to support schools in managing fiscal budgets and analyzing variances;
  • Tracking use of public and private grant funds; assisting with preparation of grant budgets;
  • Preparing monthly financial statements and reports, including projections;
  • Assisting with the preparation of reports to multiple local and state agencies;
  • Working with external auditors in support of client schools' annual audits;
  • Serving as a full-time and engaged member of Charter Choices' staff. Desired Skills & Experience
    • Bachelor's degree required; focus on business, accounting or related field preferred
    • 2-4 years of experience in non-profit, government, or school accounting preferred
    • Excellent spreadsheet skills; familiarity working in general ledger software packages
    • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with strong time-management skills
    • Strong social and verbal communication skills; willing to collaborate with team members
    • Attention to detail
    • Ability to exercise judgment in the field Company Description
