We are currently working with a Local Authority in the South West who are looking to recruit a Capital Accountant with a specialism in providing financial support to large, fast moving projects.
Job: Capital Accountant
Duration: 4 months initially
Rate: £500 via Umbrella Company, Inside IR35
Site presence: Predominantly remote working, there may be a few occasions needed on site for face to face meetings
Capital Accountant
There are a variety of projects being delivered by the Authority but the focus will be on Transport projects
Delivering these projects is critical and the successful candidate will have a real opportunity to make a tangible difference to the area.
The post holder will take a proactive approach in managing and delivering timely financial and management accounting services including budgeting, medium- and long-term financial planning, project support, forecasting and control.
Integral member of the finance management team, identifying, developing, and supporting opportunities and initiatives to transform the delivery of financial services across the Council.
To provide a key consultative role in the strategic and operational development of wide-ranging services, drawing on the post holder's specialist expertise and provide confident and clear management to ensure the successful delivery of agreed objectives.
Requirement
- Must have experience working within a Local Authority
- Experience of the management of financial planning and budgeting, production of statement of accounts, monitoring and review, including financial modelling and option appraisal of projects
- Minimum of a full AAT qualification
- Previous experience of managing a team
- Experience working on a Transport project
