Accountabilities/Duties:
- Delivers perioperative care to the surgical patient through the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation.
- Maintains a safe environment for the patient following AORN guidelines
- Able to prep the patient following AORN guidelines
- Creates and maintains a sterile field, has a good sterile conscious.
- Provides for appropriate handling and labeling of specimen and cultures
- Knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on age of the patient and their clinical condition.
- Collaborates with other healthcare team members on patient care.
- Communicates appropriately and clearly to Nurse Manager, co-workers and physicians
- Documents accurately and completely and keeps records regarding clinical practice.
- Works as a team to complete daily, weekly and monthly checklists
Required Qualifications:
- Current WI RN license
- Current BLS certification (must be through American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
- 1+ years recent experience as OR Circulator
Preferred Qualifications:
- BSN degree
- ACLS certification
