About the Job
The Department of Sociology in the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Minnesota occasionally needs temp/casual employees to provide research assistant support that cannot be staffed by regular faculty or advanced graduate students.
These positions are part-time, temporary and for a single semester of program assistance. These positions are contingent upon availability of funding.
This does not constitute a posting for vacancies, but establishes a pool of applicants should openings occur during the academic year. Applications will not be acknowledged upon receipt and will only be reviewed should openings occur. Appointments may be renewable based on need, funding, and performance.

Required Qualifications:
Applicants with a B.A., M.A., or Ph.D. in Sociology or related field, or substantial professional recognition in the field is required to be appointed as temp/casual.About the Department
Our community consists of 28 faculty, approximately 65 graduate students, and over 500 undergraduate majors. Our research focuses on four primary areas: Demography, Family & Life Course; Global, Transnational, & Comparative Sociology; Inequalities & Culture; and Law, Crime, Punishment & Human Rights. About the College of Liberal Arts
Home to the arts, social sciences and humanities disciplines and programs, the College of Liberal Arts is the largest college in the University of Minnesota and comprises 31 academic departments, and over 20 interdisciplinary research centers and administrative/support units.
