General Description

The Divisions of Pediatric Hospital Medicine and Quality and Safety at Johns Hopkins Children's Center (JHCC) are looking for a full-time faculty member for our expanding divisions. This opportunity entails a faculty position at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, clinical work as a pediatric hospitalist at JHCC, and academic time to perform quality improvement or patient safety research to expand the portfolio of projects currently underway at JHCC. The ideal candidate would have experience at the faculty level and/or fellowship training in the field of pediatric hospital medicine, a desire to help build a successful program of QI scholarship and be eligible to sit for the Pediatric Hospital Medicine board certification exam by 2023. A record of original scholarly publications is strongly preferred. The successful applicant will receive a substantial amount of protected time to design and accomplish academic work and to eventually mentor others in growing and expanding their own projects.

Pediatric hospitalists have worked at JHCC for nearly 15 years and, in 2017, were transitioned into a stand-alone division within the Department of Pediatrics. As such, we are in the midst of an exciting period of rapid growth, development and innovation. This is an opportunity for an energetic physician to get in on the ground floor as we begin to build a world class academic division. The Division of Quality and Safety is an endowed, stand-alone division created to support academic quality improvement and patient safety with close links to the world famous Armstrong Institute for Patient Safety.
