POSITION SUMMARY


For more than 100 years, Purina has led the charge in revolutionizing pet food production and its ability to enrich the lives of pets everywhere.

By 1956, through innovative engineering, we literally reshaped Pet Care, introducing Dog Chow as the first extruded dry food.

We're still at it today, with Tidy Cats, the lightweight cat litter champion of the world and our new Ultra-Premium brands, Beyond and Just Right pet food.


As a Controls Tech Specialist I, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining and enhancing the accuracy, reliability and system control's data credibility of PLC and PC-based automation systems.

In this role, you will oversee PLC upgrades and wiring modifications on production equipment and work directly with our maintenance team to troubleshoot and support production line modifications.


  • Perform troubleshooting of automation systems and provide instrumentation, PLC and HMI/SCADA software and hardware support to the maintenance staff
  • Execute plant projects and capital projects from conception through completion
  • Maintain an uptodate and complete set of asbuilt electrical and controls documentation
  • Coordinate and implement control system software upgrades
  • Perform Network Administration and Data Administration tasks for networked, PCbased control systemsrelated equipment
  • Develop, read and interpret all electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and programs essential to plant operation and provide updates as necessary
Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • 3+ years of applicable experience in PLC software and hardware troubleshooting and/or PCbased HMI systems
OR

  • Associate's Degree in a technical discipline
  • 1+ year of applicable experience in PLC software and hardware troubleshooting and/or PCbased HMI systems
The approximate pay range for this position is $61,000 to $83,000.

Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.

Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
