McLaren Northern Michigan is recruiting an experienced Clinical Psychologist in Petoskey, Michigan for an exciting new position. This position will be a combination of clinical services and academic teaching within McLaren Northern Family Medicine Rural Track residency. As a core faculty member this position will be involved in residency guidance and teaching. A clinical appointment at Michigan State University Colleges of Human and Osteopathic Medicine will be offered.

This is a full-time opportunity with 60% clinical responsibilities and 40% academics. There are no call coverage needs. The position will include:

Development and implementation of Behavioral Medicine curriculum for Family Medicine Residency following Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) requirements.Provision of oversight for well-being programming for Graduate Medical EducationPerformance of clinical duties which could include Consultation Liaison inpatient, Integrative Primary Care, Integrative Cancer Care or Psychotherapy depending on site need.Assistance to resident physicians for scholarly inquiry projects (research and/or quality Improvement).Participation in system wide Academic Behavioral Health activities, including teaching for Clinical Health Psychology Post Doctoral Fellowship and/or Internship.

Two years' experience teaching in an ACGME residency program and completion of a Health Psychology post-doctoral fellowship are preferred. The selected candidate will require a license to practice Psychology in the state of Michigan.

McLaren Northern Michigan is a 202-bed regional referral center located in Petoskey, serving residents in 22 counties across northern Lower Michigan and the eastern part of the Upper Peninsula. More than 230 physicians represent nearly all medical and surgical specialties, enabling full-service care with an emphasis on cardiology, cancer, orthopedics, and neurosciences. McLaren Northern Michigan is a certified Primary Stroke Center, as designated by the Joint Commission. The hospital has a network of primary care providers and specialty care clinics throughout the region, and an outpatient surgery center in Cheboygan.

Petoskey is located on the shores of Lake Michigan's beautiful Little Traverse Bay in northwest, lower-Peninsula Michigan. The historic architecture, seasonal activities, and miles of waterfront make it a great place to settle year-round.
