OVERVIEW

The PLTW Trainer leads high-impact and hands-on professional development experiences for Grades 6-12 educators. Responsible for preparing teachers and administrators to engage students in PLTW activity-project-problem curriculum. The PLTW Trainer conducts training experiences focused on PLTW Algebra 1 Advantage, Professional Development Suite, and other custom professional development content. This role delivers online and in-person training sessions and webinars nationwide. The PLTW Trainer supports other key initiatives as assigned, including conference workshop content review and development, teacher coaching, and training delivery-related projects. This role requires frequent travel (75%+) for multiple-day training sessions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead training and professional development opportunities related to PLTW Algebra 1 Advantage through both in-person, hybrid, and virtual formats.Demonstrate exemplary instructional practice in project/problem-based learning for adult professional development.Manage virtual and on-the-ground logistics for District Transformation Trainings. Collaborate with the school administrator or training site to prepare the training space and technology, help teachers register successfully, set up and tear down equipment and supplies, and manage the overall agenda.Serve as liaison for all assigned trainings and provide first-line support for training participants followed by escalation process as necessary.Serve as a knowledgeable resource for the assigned curricula and provide support to Team Members, as well as PLTW teachers, Master Teachers, network members, and partners.Develop, review, and/or facilitate workshops, webinars, and other professional development experiences.Work closely with other Training Operations Team Members on training planning and scheduling, venue management, and reporting and evaluation processes. Provide feedback and offer innovative ideas and techniques to continuously improve instructional development and delivery, as well as the overall training experience.Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in science, math, technology education, adult education/learning, curriculum or instruction or a related field of study, or equivalent related experience. Experience in classroom teaching, instructional design and delivery, adult learning, corporate training, online teaching; or a combination of these experiences.Experience teaching High School Algebra and/or Mathematics.
