SummaryResponsible for providing an excellent patient experience while delivering and documenting safe patient care through utilization of the nursing process in collaboration with the physician, practice leadership and other care team members. Provides oversight and coordination of nursing care delivered in the practice setting or telephonically, ensuring the care delivered is effective, efficient and achieves desired patient outcomes. responsible for supporting and guiding the care team in collaboration with the practice and physician leadership based on treatment plan, established clinical nursing practice standards subscribed to by American Nursing Association and in accordance with the Florida Nurse Practice Act and other regulatory standards. Demonstrates proficient utilization of available tools and resources which supports the unlicensed and licensed clinical staff including but not limited to: educating, mentoring, competency validation and evaluating. Contributes to the provision of quality care in the office setting through excellence in customer service and utilization of performance improvement techniques that demonstrate positive outcomes in patient care. This position has the knowledge, experience, interpersonal skills and behaviors appropriate to serve as a resource for internal and external customers regarding patient care.
The RN who is hired for the NICU Developmental Follow Up Clinic would need to do the following:
- Screen all admissions to the NICU at Golisano Childrens Hospital for eligibility for follow up in our program
- Schedule all eligible patients for their first follow up visit
- Complete rounds in the NICU to meet the families prior to discharge and explain our follow up program
- Assist with the Vermont-Oxford Study: assist with Bayley test administration, enter data to be sent to the VON administrators, contact eligible childrens families to schedule Bayley testing
- Manage the data input for the VON Study (babies less than 28 weeks gestation and/or less than 1000 grams at birth)
- Manage the scheduling and data input for our Lee Health Study (all babies less than 1500 grams at birth)
- Case management for our medically complicated patients
- Schedule children for autism screening, assist providers on autism screening dates
Education Requirements: Associates degree from accredited school of professional nursing required; Bachelors preferred.
Experience Requirements: Office/outpatient experience preferred. Experience requirements may vary by department. Please reference the Nursing Addendums for department specific requirements.
Certification Requirements:Certification in Ambulatory Nursing preferred. Certification requirements may vary by department. Please reference the Nursing Addendums for department specific requirements. Specialty Areas: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
License Requirements: Currently licensed in the State of Florida.
Other Requirements:Above average communication skills. Adaptable and participative with technology changes.
