Job duties:
- Calibrates and performs preventative maintenance on laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
- Installs and qualifies equipment within the QC laboratories.
- working with Procurement on setting up vendor contracts
- Meets all schedules for calibrations and preventative maintenance.
- Notifies Department Management when any instrument/equipment is nonconforming and follows up to ensure a timely response to the issue.
- Assists/Leads in troubleshooting and/or repairing of instrument or equipment problems and resolving difficult problems in creative ways. Uses discretion and independent judgment to consider and determine appropriate solutions / actions.
- Performs unscheduled calibration/preventive maintenance activities as needed to support owning departments.
- Maintains technical department files (e.g. specification sheets, manuals).
- Contacts calibration and PM services to ensure timely calibration and/or preventative maintenance of instruments and equipment.
- Performs training as required.
- Performs calibration / preventive maintenance reviews / approvals, as applicable.
- performing investigations for failed equipment calibrations and other related equipment issues using the electronic CAPA/deviation sytem.
- Reviews laboratory reports, procedures, proposed engineering changes, tooling prints and documentation for appropriateness and accuracy.
- Sets up calibration sequences, methods, and procedures according to detailed specifications, documents, drawings, and requirements.
- Disassembles, cleans, repairs, and replaces defective parts of test equipment.
Minimum qualifications:
- B.S. degree in Chemistry, or other related fields.
- 5 plus years job related experience in onboarding, maintaining, and/or troubleshooting analytical equipment within the pharmaceutical or similar cGMP environment.
- Ability to maintain accurate records.
- Ability to apply existing work methods to different situations and solves problems ranging from recurring/routine to complex situations.
