Position Specific Description

Senior Software Engineer, backend specialty and able to work with front-end code. As a member of the "Tune Squad", you'll develop Everbright's online sales platform. Your work will address climate change through the financing of residential solar panels, batteries, and other home-decarbonizing products that remove load from the grid and move homes in the United States off of fossil fuels. The backend stack is Python, Django, Postgres, AWS, and the front-end is a mix of React and legacy Angular code. Work is structured as two-week Agile sprints, with daily standups, a few other meetings each week, and weekly org-wide releases managed by a separate release team. You'll work with the tech lead to design, scope and implement backend tickets and ticket sequences, review PRs, mentor junior developers, and participate in thinking through the long-term vision of the product and underlying tech. The team is currently two developers, a PM, two designers and a QA expert, and you'll work closely with all of them to deliver customer value. You will also work with members of the Sales Platform's other two dev teams (nicknamed "Ghostbusters" and "Channel Four News"), and other dev teams across the organization. You'll participate in a cross-team backend development guild and optional front-end guild, to discuss org-wide technical issues and architecture,

Work is remote with an opportunity to work in-person in the San Francisco or Juno Beach, Florida office. Occasional travel, no more than a couple times per year, to work in person with your team, other dev teams, and interact with the wider organization.

Job Overview

This position writes and tests software to aid in development and support of products. Individuals in this role work with Technical Leads on software system architecture and service design and typically leads a module in the system. This position participates in required product development process ceremonies. Employees in this role are responsible for writing and refining technical requirements and technical design documentation.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Codes in multiple languages in support of software products and the development of software products
  • Conducts system testing and codes unit tests and support features
  • Documents technical requirement and other technical documentation
  • Works with product team to refine product requirements
  • Collaborates on high level software design projects and software system architecture and creates effective component level architectures
  • Leads software module construction from architecture and design to implementation and may lead a small team of engineers in building the module
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Experience: 7+ years

The estimated base pay for this position is $122,400.00 to $183,600.00 per year. Starting pay will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, experience, qualifications, job-related and industry knowledge and skills and education/training.
