The Department of Sociology at the University of Notre Dame invites applications for an open rank (tenured or tenure-track) position set to begin in the fall of 2025.

Position titles may include Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor. The area of specialization is open.

The Department of Sociology at Notre Dame has long standing excellence in the sociology of culture, education, movements and politics, religion, and theory.

In recent years we have established strengths in several sociological areas including gender and family, global and transnational, race, and stratification.

The faculty embraces a range of innovative methodological approaches and has expertise that covers the globe.

We especially welcome applications from scholars who contribute to one or more existing areas of departmental strengths listed above while also helping to expand into new areas of expertise.

Qualifications:
We seek a candidate with a Ph.
D. in Sociology or a related field. Candidates who are ABD in Sociology or a related field will also be considered.
