Position Description
The Department of Writing & Rhetoric (DWR) at the University of Mississippi seeks applicants for an Instructor of Composition and Rhetoric. This 9-month teaching position carries a 4/4 teaching load with service responsibilities and starts 19 August 2024. This is a renewable position with benefits. Instructors are non-tenure track faculty with opportunities for promotion to Lecturer and Senior Lecturer as defined by the department's Instructor Promotion Policy. We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds. The DWR supports and cultivates student-centered learning while encouraging collective pedagogical approaches from faculty.


Job Responsibilities
- Teaching first-year courses, including Writing 101 and 102;
- Participating in the ongoing evaluation and revision of curricula;
- Contributing to a professional development community within the DWR;
- Contributing to distributed assignment, course, and program assessments;
- Serving the department in various capacities
