Shift
Monday – Friday, (40 hrs/wk), 8:00am – 4:30pm.
Job Summary
UK Healthcare is seeking a Cytotechnologist. This position will perform laboratory procedures under the direction of the Cytopathology Supervisor.
Must successfully meet required performance standards of competency and proficiency testing.
Performs primary screening of cytology slides with accuracy.
Has similar pick-up rates for abnormalities and error rates do not exceed thresholds. Performs immediate adequacy evaluations for aspirate and touch prep slides. Accurately uses computer system to record all procedures that are performed and to enter interpretations for reports.
Neatly/legibly records all documentation that is required to be written as opposed to computer entry.
Has the ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations and make quick decisions. Changes priorities as emergencies arise.
Stays up to date on all new procedures and policy changes in the Cytology procedure manual.
Performs or assists with projects or duties as assigned and approved by the supervisor and/or director.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Eligibility for Professional License; Registration or Certification, 5. Certification.
Must successfully pass a pre-employment onsite slide screening test.

Preferred Education/Experience
ThinPrep and Hologic imaging system preferred. 3 years cytotechnology experience preferred but not required.
