The Division's mission is to develop and advance the measurement and knowledge infrastructure to characterize nano- and atom-scale engineered materials and solid-state devices for innovation in information processing, sensing, and future quantum technologies.
As the new Research Chemist on our team, you will:Conduct experiments to advance hybrid techniques that combine scanning probe microscopy with optical spectroscopy to achieve high spatial resolution of light matter interactions evaluating quantum and nanoelectronic processes with efficient data acquisition.
Advance scanned probe techniques to enable simultaneous, quantitative, nanoscale chemical composition, molecular conformation, bandgap, adhesion, mechanical stiffness, thermal conductivity, and interfacial thermal conductance.
Investigate multiple characteristic processes such as phonon-polariton excitations, interfacial thermal conductance, and excitonic and vibronic features of nanoelectronic and highly correlated quantum materials and devices with nanoscale resolution.
Disseminate research results through open literature publication and technical talks at conferences and participate in internal, industrial, or university collaborations to increase impact of research results.
