Job Title: Senior Estimator - Electrical Construction (Data Center Experience Preferred)

Location: Phoenix, AZ

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Estimator to join our team, specializing in electrical construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in estimating complex projects, with a focus on data center construction. If you have extensive experience in electrical construction and a background in estimating data center projects, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities:

  1. Estimation: Lead the preparation of accurate and detailed cost estimates for electrical construction projects, with a focus on data centers. This includes materials, labor, equipment, and other associated costs.
  2. Project Analysis: Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to understand the scope and requirements of each project, particularly in the @context of data center construction.
  3. Quantity Takeoffs: Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and material pricing to accurately determine project costs.
  4. Vendor Management: Solicit bids and proposals from vendors and suppliers, evaluating them for competitiveness and alignment with project requirements.
  5. Cost Analysis: Conduct thorough cost analysis, considering factors such as labor rates, material costs, equipment rentals, and overhead expenses.
  6. Value Engineering: Identify value engineering opportunities and alternative solutions to optimize project costs while maintaining quality and performance standards.
  7. Bid Preparation: Prepare comprehensive bids and proposals that meet project deadlines and client requirements.
  8. Client Communication: Collaborate with clients, engineers, and project managers to clarify project requirements, address concerns, and ensure client satisfaction.
  9. Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of all estimate-related activities, including contracts, change orders, progress reports, and other relevant records.
  10. Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior estimators, sharing knowledge and best practices to support their professional development.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred).
  • 7+ years of experience in electrical construction estimation, with a focus on data center projects.
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical systems and components used in data center construction.
  • Proven track record of successfully estimating complex projects, particularly in the data center industry.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in estimating and cost analysis.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and estimation software.
