The North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health System (NF/SGVHS) is looking for a Allergy Immunology Physician to serve at the Jacksonville Outpatient Clinic, in Jacksonville, Florida. The Allergy Immunology Physician provides care throughout the Medical Center as required in the forms of outpatient clinic, inpatient consults, and E-consults. Care is delivered in-person and/or video telehealth as appropriate.
Duties
This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT. Eligible applicants will be referred until all vacancies are filled.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Provide patient care that is compassionate, appropriate, and effective for the promotion of health, prevention of illness, treatment of disease, and care at the end of life.
- Demonstrate knowledge of established and evolving biomedical, clinical, and social sciences, and the application of knowledge to patient care and the education of others.
- Expected to use scientific evidence and methods to investigate, evaluate, and improve patient care.
- Demonstrate interpersonal and communication skills that enable them to establish and maintain professional relationships with patients, families, and members of the health care team.
- Build relations and communicate with primary care, specialty services, and telehealth crew to ensure coordination of patient care both at local and remote locations.
- Demonstrate behaviors that reflect a commitment to continuous professional development, ethical practice, understanding and sensitivity to diversity, a responsible attitude toward patients, and their profession.
- Demonstrate both an understanding of the contexts and systems in which health care is provided, and the ability to apply this knowledge to improve optimizing health care.
- Provides outpatient allergy immunology consultation and management, coordinates care of patients between their primary care providers and referring clinicians and manages patients undergoing a variety of allergy immunology procedures including allergy skin testing, pharmacologic drug challenge testing, and desensitization therapy.
- Orders, interprets, and follows up on a variety of diagnostic and therapeutic tests/studies; initiates consults and referrals and prescribes medications/orders supplies in accordance with VA policy, VA formulary, and State/Federal regulations.
- Review of community care consults as needed.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and committees, as required.
- Works closely with MAS and Nursing to resolve daily clinic operational issues.
- Is available for issues concerning patient care, nursing concerns, and calls during normal tour hours and when providing on-call services.
- Recommends actions to improve patient and employee satisfaction.
- Maintains VA training requirements, timely completion of documentation and upkeep of credentials required for privileging and re-privileging.
- Completion of all required training, proficiencies, and FPPE/OPPE process. - Ensuring that consults triaged properly and timely.
Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases
Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)

Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory
CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification)

Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting
Telework Eligible: As authorized by service.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
