Overview

Receiving Clerk is responsible for receiving in product and verifying the accuracy to vendor invoices. The Receiving Clerk ensures that product is rotated and checks dates for freshness. The Receiving Clerk assists with general distribution duties in addition to their daily receiving.

This is a key position for the effective and profitable operation of the business. The employee must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work a variable event-driven schedule which includes evenings and weekends. Open availability, professional presentation, outstanding interpersonal skills, self-direction and strong management and independent decision-making skills are required.

This role will pay an hourly wage of $18 to $20.00.

Responsibilities

Responsible for tracking purchase orders (PO's) and comparing orders to invoices.Responsible for receiving and distribution control for the venue.Responsible for rotating food products during the stocking process to ensure the freshest products are being served to guests.Ensure HACCP program principles are being applied to current food product and new deliveries.Responsible for checking deliveries for mispicks and damaged goods.Responsible for consistently checking the supplies for outdated product.Responsible for the upkeep of the warehouse including sweeping, mopping and organizing storage areas.Required to be familiar with all food, beverage and paper product supplies at the facility.Maintain and manage sanitation and organizational systems of all warehouse storage areas.Provide direction to part-time warehouse staff to ensure all established lay-ins are completed for each event, in addition to requisitioning during events, post-event break down, warehouse returns, equipment storage, sanitation and maintenance.Assist Purchasing Manager with submitting PO's to vendorsResponsible for ensuring that purchase order system is adhered to for all orders received at each warehouse; verify proper specification, size, quantity, etc. of goods received; supervise proper labeling, dating and stocking of supplies.Oversee and ensure that appropriate stocking levels are met for each event; rotate and maintain integrity of product.Ensure proper transfer process of product between locations, including follow-up documentation. Conduct walk through of the commissary, warehouse and storage areas after the completion of the day to ensure all areas are clean.

Qualifications

Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff and guests in a clear, business-like and respectful manner which focuses on generating a positive, enthusiastic and cooperative work environment.Ability to speak, read and write in English.Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.High School diploma or equivalent.Minimum 2 years foodservice / hospitality experience; similar venue experience a plus.Forklift certification a plusFood service certification

Physical Dimensions:

Performing the duties of this position involves extensive and continuous standing and walking. Routine activities require the employee to be able to reach with hands and arms, sit, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl. The employee is frequently required to lift up to 50 pounds. The vision requirements include the ability to adjust focus, peripheral vision and close vision.
