This position is located in Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, Director of Operational Logistics, Deputy Commandant for Mission Support, Base Alameda, Alameda CA.
Duties
This position services as a Welder, performing welding work in support of the U.S. Coast Guard, Base Naval Engineering Division.
Being a CG civilian makes you a valuable member of the CG team. Typical work assignments include:
- Welding assignments may include work on Lighthouses, aids to navigation (AtoN), barges, boats, ships and small vessels and their associated equipment.
- Welding various components of a ship including the shell, broken or cracked engine parts, framing, inner bottoms, tanks, boilers, decks, bulkheads, superstructures, masts, stacks, ventilation ducts, railing, Class I piping and similar components.
- Welding pre-fabricated subassemblies, buoys, davits, pressure vessel tanks, piping and similar items.
Will serve as a member of the Emergency Repair Team which will travel TAD in response to natural disasters to restore CG operations.
