The PDO (Product Data Optimization) Specialist is responsible for improving data quality, accuracy, and consistency within the US Foods Product Information Management (PIM) Catalog by developing and implementing controls, audits, validations and process improvements for the setup and maintenance of all new and existing items through the Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN) and manual data imports. The PDO Specialist is accountable to support all coordinator and supervisor goals by capitalizing on their expertise in USF Merchandising and Industry initiatives. In addition, the Specialist is responsible for analyzing and making decisions on Brand and Attributes add requests. This position requires a combination of technical, analytical, and collaborative skills to effectively manage product data and support the company's goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and implement a list of priorities for updating product data content which includes project completion timelines that are aligned with Merchandising Category initiatives and Sales Integration programs
  • Develop product description rules and support materials that promote improvement of product catalog integrity that supports sales and CatMan
  • Implement GDSN standards and trouble-shoot internal/external compliance issues related to data synchronization initiatives with Suppliers
  • Responsible for obtaining and reporting progress/metrics for projects, images, and group reviews.
  • Responsible for identifying, updating and implementing appropriate fields and minimizing gaps within PIM database by working with internal/external systems and partners
  • Leveraging experience, identify and address deficiencies and create systems recommendations for review by PIM Managers
  • Support marketing images in the PIM application, including image review, mass upload, and demonstrate understanding of the workflow, DAM repositories and naming standards.
  • Support product description and group consistency and accuracy for group reviews, including working files, auditing and loading files.
  • Participate in PIM functional testing in the QA and/or Production environment following existing test criteria and procedures, and provide feedback and documentation of findings and possible resolution
  • Responsible for Brand and Attributes adds, including understanding the different brand types and the rules for set to add/delete, partner with coordinators to get additional information, ability to analyze and make decisions to approve and reject add requests and make any needed updates to policies and procedures
  • Execute multiple small and large projects as assigned by manager
  • Develop, create and maintain all policies and procedures for MB and EB product data.
  • Create and deliver training for new or updated policies/procedures
  • Responsible for EB and Scoop product setup and maintenance, including PLM, Scoop Launch, the EB inbox. Learn to navigate and work in PLM application. Provide weekend support for Scoop Launch as needed.
  • Attend status meetings and prepare/present status report to Managers of PIM
  • Other duties as assigned by manager

RELATIONSHIPS

  • Internal: PIM team, MOXe team, Category Management team, IT team, Finance, Regional/local division leadership
  • External: Manufacturers, GS1 US, Integrated 3rd Party Solution Providers, GDSN Data Pools, Managed Services

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Remote : This role is fully remote, and the associate is expected to perform assigned responsibilities from a home-based environment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2 years of experience in PIM or Master Data required
  • 2 years Analysis experience working with advanced Excel functionality including Pivot Tables, VLookup and Macros for bulk data analysis and manipulation
  • Experience in making data driven decisions and having the ability to make recommendations to internal stakeholders
  • Clear understanding of GS1 standards and data synchronization implementation
  • Strong business/interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse groups and cross functional teams internally and externally
  • Ability to work with all levels of management
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to independently lead multiple projects
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills. Must clearly and concisely articulate business concepts and issues to management
  • Advanced knowledge of PIM system, mass update functionality, and New Item Setup procedures
  • Proven ability to research, organize, and multi-task in a fast-paced deadline driven environment
  • Demonstrates a proven ability to make decisions through analytical/problem solving skills
