This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command.

It is in the Professional Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA-Risk Management Directorate (RE63).

• Performs cybersecurity reviews to identify security gaps in Information Technology architecture resulting in recommendations for inclusion into the risk mitigation strategy.
• Identifies, evaluates, and assesses applications and operating systems of network resources and analyzes anomalies in network traffic or design.
• Develops mission attack plans and strategies using a technical expert knowledge of Cloud cyber defense and vulnerability assessment tools, including open-source tools, and their capabilities.
• Ensures proper test design which will allow full evaluation of system/equipment against known, new, and emerging threats and vulnerabilities.
• Characterizes and analyzes network traffic to identify anomalous activity and potential threats to network resources.
• Provides technical advice and guidance concerning the technical adequacy and suitability of test plans.
• Assesses the level of risk and provides recommendations on appropriate mitigation activities.
