Rockstar Games is on the lookout for an intern who will work with our hardware engineering group. As a Hardware Engineering Intern, you will collaborate with an experienced team deploying and supporting new gear around the world. This position is a paid, fixed term contract position running for 10 weeks from early June 2024 to mid-August 2024. This is a full-time position, with the expectation of a 40-hour work week. The successful candidate will work in Rockstar's studio facilities in Los Angeles, CA.

WHAT WE DO
  • The Hardware Engineering team designs mocap and production electronics.
  • We collaborate with motion capture teams, assessing their needs and creating and inventing new devices.
  • We design cameras, high precision timing circuits, scanners and more, all in the service of creating the best games.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist hardware engineers in performing tasks such as constructing electronic equipment.
  • Assemble and solder components.
  • Operate 3D printers, milling machine, and drill.
  • Receive guidance and mentorship from Leads and team members and collaborate with members of the performance capture technical group.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • This internship is intended for undergraduate students, graduate students, or recent graduates who have completed coursework in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Applicants must be eligible to work in the US.
SKILLS
  • Interest or experience designing circuit boards and programming embedded systems.
  • Passion for tinkering.
  • Experience working in interdisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving ability.
  • Great team communication skills.
  • Excellent writing skills.
PLUSES

  • Embedded Linux experience.

The pay range for this position in California at the start of employment is expected to be between the range below* per hour. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
