Reporting to the Vice President for Administrative Services, the Dean of Students is responsible for managing, overseeing and directing the efforts of several departments in the Student Affairs Division including: the Student Success Center, Freshman Studies Office, the Intramural Sports Program, the Office of Student Activities, Judicial Affairs and Housing, and Residence Life. The Dean of Students will support the overall mission and vision of the Student Affairs Division and serve on University-wide committees.

Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for developing and overseeing ongoing orientation for new and continuing students; implementing programming and support services for all students

Provides support to the residential life component by enhancing programming in the residence halls

Serves as a resource to students, faculty, staff and administrators

Serves as the after-hours and weekend contact for emergencies.

Other duties as assigned by the Vice President for Administrative Services

Requirements
Master's degree in College Student Development, Administrative Service or a related field

At minimum of five years of experience working with college students

At minimum five years of supervisory leadership or comparable experience working with diverse populations.

Qualifications
The position requires an energetic and creative leader with demonstrated skills in writing, leadership, management, and collaborative work.

This position requires one who is student-centered, accessible and open to students.

The successful candidate must be able to work collaboratively with students, faculty, staff and administrators and serve as a liaison between student affairs and academic affairs.

The incumbent must be able to lead change when necessary and be committed to continuous improvement and have a clear understanding of the growing trends in student affairs and documented evidence of success working with college students.
