Summary: The Launch Coordinator will provide administrative/technical support to engineering department to ensure successful product launches

Job Responsibilities: The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be assigned and required.

  1. Prepare, input, and review all requested information for engineering department.
  2. Maintain customer databases as required.
  3. Prepare and maintain customer requests for quote packages (RFQs)
  4. Assist Engineering staff in launch activities including project timing and milestones.
  5. Prepare and maintain APQP/Launch documentation for the Engineering Department
  6. Manage, track and review the PCN process, and other engineering changes, for tasks required from the Engineering department and close PCN's when ready.
  7. Assist the Engineering staff in completing Customer Tooling Audit documentation.
  8. Manage CPMP process by creating new projects, establishing timelines, adding new team members and following up with team members to ensure tasks are completed on time.
  9. Manage IMDS submissions.
  10. Provide support to ensure the Engineering department is compliant to Mafact requirements.
  11. Maintain all Engineering forms and documents.
  12. Understand and review PFMEA and participate in Continuous Risk Reduction meetings.
  13. Set-up and maintain master files (part number, contract, prototype, pending quotes, etc.), update files with engineering changes and store any "balance out" programs as necessary.
  14. Prepare, submit, and maintain customer documentation, i.e., packaging forms, quote sheets, etc.
  15. Handle and maintain confidential information on a regular basis.
  16. Understand and work within CMS.
  17. Create Power Points and timelines for Engineering and update/maintain as needed.
  18. Follow and support Magna Body & Chassis Iowa and Magna's operating principles.
  19. Support efforts to achieve department and plant goals on Employee Opinion Survey

Qualifications: (These qualifications represent the minimum requirements of the position. Employees will be required to possess the ability and aptitudes to perform the duties proficiently)

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Certificate of completion of Control Plan, F.M.E.A. training or related experience
  • One plus years of business or engineering related college courses preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and written.
  • Able to work well with others; build and maintain positive employee relations.
  • Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, employees, suppliers, and customers.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality and use discretion and tact.
  • Able to manage and schedule multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to work flexible and additional hours.
  • Must be proficient in MS Office Products, computer software packages and online systems.
  • Intermediate math skills to calculate figures and amounts, such as percentages and proportions.
  • Able to work on your own with minimal guidance and supervision.
