The SQL Developer will design, develop, and maintain SQL databases ensuring their performance, availability, and security.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

Optimize database systems for SQL performance and scalability, tuning and query optimization specifically with MySQL on Amazon Aurora RDS
Deploy SQL as Code including schema changes and data migrations, for example, with versioned DB scripts, Redgate SQL Compare, Liquibase, or similar tooling
Troubleshoot and deep dive into SQL query execution plans
Write and troubleshoot complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers.
Refactor, test and optimize complex SQL queries
Responsible for everything in database engineering, from writing SQL queries to knowing database internals and optimizing hardware and network attributes for RDS.
Learn, coach, and share knowledge and skills with other Trek10 team members
Lead re-platforming and refactoring efforts for existing systems
Own the implementation of stories and other engineering of advanced cloud work for clients
Perform research and documentation for problems and potential solutions
Be a technical team advocate, ensuring clear direction and efficient execution
Hands-on involvement in the development of projects. Enforces standards, procedures, and methodologies for the software development life cycle.
Participate in cross-functional implementation teams to deliver solutions to clients
Prepare work for team members of varying levels of experience, defining stories and task type work
Contribute to internal IP and open source development
Participate in delivery efforts using Agile or other work methodologies
Build relationships with vendors and partners
Engage with clients including presentations, technical decisions, and education opportunities
Learn, research, and stay up to date on best practices and evolutionary capability in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud
Share knowledge and skills with other Trek10 team members and client teams
Write cool blog posts, do talks at community events, help us achieve additional certifications in the AWS Partner Community, help our clients solve all sorts of problems
Occasional travel may be required to meet stakeholders, kick off new projects, attend conferences, and attend company functions.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
6+ years of general IT experience (programming, hardware, software, etc)
3+ years of experience with Amazon Web Services
3+ years experience with AWS Cloud database services including Aurora RDS Native patterns with services like AWS Lambda
1+ year code-defined infrastructure experience
1+ Continuous Integration and Deliver (CI/CD) experience
Have worked with Agile Project Management or other project management work methodologies.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
AWS Associate and/or Professional Level Certification
3 years experience architecting and building scalable, automated infrastructure
3+ years of database query development utilizing MySQL, SQL dialect and Microsoft T-SQL
In-depth knowledge of indexes, query instrumentation and execution time improvement
Advanced level experience developing shell scripts in large-scale enterprise database environments
Familiarity with application level programming languages desirable, such as Python, , C# or Java. ,
Intermediate experience building scalable, automated infrastructure
Intermediate experience working in a consultative, client-facing consulting role
Able to demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated documentation and presentation skills
