We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced PostgreSQL Developer/Administrator to join our dynamic team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database design, query development, and performance optimization.
This role requires a deep understanding of PostgreSQL internals, index design, replication mechanisms, and experience with cloud environments, particularly AWS. A bonus skill would be proficiency in Java development.

You Will:

  • Design and implement robust, scalable database schemas to support business processes.
  • Develop and optimize SQL queries for maximum efficiency and performance.
  • Create and maintain indexes to improve database performance and response times.
  • Conduct regular query tuning and server optimization to ensure smooth database operation.
  • Understand and leverage PostgreSQL internals for effective database management.
  • Set up and manage replication configurations to ensure data consistency and availability.
  • Collaborate with development teams to integrate databases with business applications.
  • Manage database security, backup, recovery, and upgrade processes.
  • Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement improvements.
  • Provide technical support and training to team members on PostgreSQL features and best practices.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in database technology.
  • Experience with AWS services related to databases, such as RDS, EC2, and S3.
  • (Bonus) Experience with MS SQL Server
  • (Bonus) Develop and maintain Java applications that interact with PostgreSQL databases.

You Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a PostgreSQL Developer/Administrator with a strong portfolio of database projects.
  • Deep understanding of database design principles and data normalization.
  • Expertise in SQL query writing, query optimization, and index tuning.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL replication setups and database scaling strategies.
  • Solid understanding of PostgreSQL internals and configuration.
  • Proficient in managing cloud-based database systems, particularly in AWS environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • (Bonus) Proficiency in Java development and understanding of Java-based application frameworks.
