Position Title: Temporary Summer Laborer

POSITION OVERVIEW

Summer (Temporary) employment in entry level (laborer) positions. Positions will be offered at the ASARCO Ray operation, consisting of General shops, Ray concentrator and Pit operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Work safely around moving equipment while using required safety equipment
  • Ability to physically perform light to heavy work over extended periods of time, often under unfavorable working conditions and inclement weather
  • Assist in all cleanup throughout property as required
  • Use of hand shovel
  • Use of general hand tools
  • Use of small front-end loader for cleanup when needed
  • Light or heavy lifting as required
  • Various duties as assigned
    REQUIREMENTS
    • Must have High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
    • Must be 18 years of age or older
    • Must be a graduating high school senior with verification of fall enrollment to a community or four-year college, or
    • Must have completed or be in the process of completing Freshman year of college, or
    • Must have completed or be in the process of completing first year of community college or vocational/technical school
    • Ability to read and comprehend safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals
    • Ability to work in a load noise environment
