Job Description
Under the general supervision of the Electrical Maintenance Supervisor, the incumbent oversees every aspect of the electrical systems on the mine site, and is responsible for their repair and maintenance while continuously aligning daily functions to reflect Kinross' values.
Job Responsibilities
Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair AC/DC drive systems, AC/DC motors, electrical shovel, electrical power distribution, protection systems, metering, PLC's, and lighting systems.Moving, hauling, and lifting equipment as required by the repair or maintenance being performed.Learn to order parts, and specify certain parts when ordering, and complete appropriate paperwork.Train for higher levels of responsibility.Responsible to manage the RMGC Environmental Health and Safety Management system in his/her areas of responsibility.Compliance with all company policies and procedures including, but not limited to safety, environmental, confidentiality and code of conduct.Meets or exceeds established performance expectations set by management.Consistently exercises discretion and judgment in job performance.Works without risk or harm to self and others.Punctuality and regular attendance required.Helps develop other department personnel to perform duties listed above.Performs other related functions as assigned by supervisor.
Education and Experience
Knowledge of electronics and electrical power.Be constantly aware of personal safety. The incumbent must understand what actions can lead to dangerous reactions and know the proper steps to take in order to perform each job safely.Capable of lifting and hauling equipment necessary to complete each job.Be able to accurately complete appropriate paperwork associated with ordering parts. Electrical background required; either a college or technical degree or Journeyman.Work will be performed both indoors and outdoors in a general industrial environment. The incumbent may be asked to work straight days or shiftwork with overtime as needed. Appropriate PPE must be worn at all times.Possesses good communication and interpersonal skills.General understanding of mining operations, as well as limited understanding of milling and maintenance operations.Working knowledge and skill with P.C. utilizing word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software.Strong verbal, written, analytical and persuasive skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management.Ability to work independently and also as a member of the management team.Demonstrates strong administrative, organizational and technical writing skills.Must be 18 years old and presently authorized to work in the United States on a full time basis.Requires valid driver's license.
Compensation Data
Kinross offers all full time employees a comprehensive benefit package including; medical, dental and vision insurance. We also offer a 5% Geographic allowance for all hours worked, generous 401K program (instant vesting with 6% match and 4% gift) and participation in an employee stock purchase program.
All maintenance positions include an annual clothing and tool allowance.
Schedule would be Monday -Thursday, 10 hour days.
Wages are based upon experience ($ $42.82/hour)
