As a Recovery Navigator, you'll serve at an organization committed to addressing the growing issue of substance use. You will play a crucial role in addressing the challenges of substance use, empowering individuals to build healthier lives. You will engage in professional development and comprehensive skills-based training to earn additional credentials and certificates.
Join our AmeriCorps team on a mission make recovery possible for more Americans This position is specifically focused on recruiting Navigators and serving those who are in recovery from substance use disorders for program year. Put your passion into action - become a Recovery Navigator and be the difference
How You'll Take Action
- You work with others to maintain their progress in recovery.
- Leaning on your own recovery experience to provide mentoring and peer support.
- Assisting clients in navigating social service resources and programs.
- Participate in training and professional development throughout the year, including the Peer Recovery Support training.
- Foster strong relationships with clients to help build their confidence and skills, while encouraging them to have agency over their own recovery.
- Gain valuable professional experience while embedded in a local recovery organization.
- Share your experience with the wider community as a Recovery Corps ambassador.

It Starts with a Passion
Our Navigators come from all walks of life. The most important qualification is a passion to make a difference in your community - and meet the following minimum qualifications.
By the time they begin their service, our Navigators are:
- In recovery for at least one uninterrupted year from a substance use disorder by the start date.
- Must not exceed the age of 29 by the start of your service date
- Dependable and have a history of good attendance
- Able to understand and follow instructions
- Able to set a pace and maintain a service schedule, depending on the agreed upon hours commitment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), internet searches, data entry, email communication (with attachments), databases and software use, and videoconferencing.
- Fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing English fluently
- 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent
- A citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States*
- Able to successfully complete a background check
*Applicants who have received deferred action for childhood arrivals (DACA) through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security are not eligible to serve in our programs at this time. DACA applicants may be eligible for AmeriCorps VISTA programs, for more information click here.
Perks Package
While you're making a difference, you'll receive a paycheck (stipend) every two weeks and additional perks As an AmeriCorps program we have both federally provided benefits and program specific benefits.
Federal Benefits include:
- Up to $ in Education Award

40 Hours
- $1200 stipend paid every two weeks.

- $725 stipend paid every two weeks.
