Summary

This position is located with Bonneville Power Administration, in the TT Program Management and Governance (TTBG) Organization, of Transmission Technology Services Internal Business Operations Management (TTB) and Transmission Technology Services (TT).

A successful candidate in the IT Specialist (SYSADMIN/INFOSEC) position will analyze and/or review cyber vulnerability assessments and performing mitigations on resolvable vulnerabilities across Bonneville Power Administration control centers.



Duties

As an IT Specialist (SYSADMIN/INFOSEC), you will:

  • Act as Subject Matter Expert on Vulnerability Management and Patching working closely with a Governance team on Vulnerability Management, Bonneville Power Administration Policy and all current Federal, Department of Energy and Northwest Energy Regulatory Council directives, regulations and standards.
  • Provide technical support during a cyber-event related to vulnerabilities as part of an incident response team.
  • Perform technical risk and vulnerability assessments of relevant technology focus areas including local computing environment, network and infrastructure, supporting infrastructure, and applications.
  • Interact with business units to discover, triage and resolve security vulnerabilities with manual and automated tools to enforce security criteria as part of a Secure Development Life Cycle continuously.
  • Responsible for the execution of testing, implementation, and verification of security related patches.
  • Plans and coordinates the installation of new products, security patches and upgrades. Works closely with customers to ensure seamless implementation.
  • Investigates, evaluates, and selects tools and methods for improving software development security testing throughout the life cycle in order to prevent introduction of vulnerabilities through components, libraries or configuration into custom developed products.
  • Maintains an overall current knowledge of data processing trends, tools, and capabilities within BPA and industry-wide.
