IMEG Corp. is growing, and we'd love to have you join our team We are currently seeking a Mechanical Project Designer / Engineer that offers a unique opportunity for the right candidate to work remotely or in our MN office.

As a Mechanical Project Designer / Engineer some of your key duties and include:

  • Responsible for calculations, system design, equipment selections, reports, progress submittals,
  • BIM instructions for their project, and specifications required to assure project completeness
  • and accuracy within the allocated period of time and monetary budget. The Mechanical Project
  • Designer consistently exercises his/her own discretion and judgment in the performance of these duties

Principal Responsibilities

  • Act as Lead Designer on projects and is able to perform complete mechanical systems design (for a discipline) according to code.
  • Specify equipment based on project needs and available technology, and researches resources for commercially available equipment.
  • Calculate costs and time schedules for proposed work; review all files to determine scope and personnel involved.
  • Maintain good client relations, project design notebook, and provide documentation for permanent record files.
  • Coordinate design and schedule with other disciplines such as architectural, structural, electrical, technology, clerical and equipment suppliers.
  • Document design decisions, meetings, and instructions from client promptly while monitoring project design progress as related to fee expended.
  • Review all project documents for accuracy and completeness prior to requesting a final check.
  • Prepare and issue addendum information.
  • Recognize potential project problems quickly and seek advice from the Project Manager.
  • Review design methods, procedures, changes in scope, and client correspondence with the Project Manager.
  • Conduct periodic job site observations and all other services as required by the contract services agreement.
  • Mentor designers and /or technicians.
  • Other duties assigned by the employer.

Skills

  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans and drawings.
  • Knowledge and prediction of physical principles, laws, and their interrelationships, and applications to understanding fluid, material, and atmospheric dynamics.
  • Skill in the use of Microsoft Office programs, CAD software and BIM.
  • Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, and a minimum four years of qualifying experience.

Or

  • A minimum of 10 years of qualifying experience without a bachelor's degree.
