The school offers a coed program for young children at the Barat Center for Early Childhood Education and then an all-girls experience from K-12 on our 110-acre campus in Greenwich, Connecticut. We are proudly part of the Network of Sacred Heart Schools.

We are currently seeking a Middle School Cross Country Assistant Coach to join our Athletic Department for the 2024 Fall season.

Position: Middle School Cross Country Assistant Coach
Reports to: Director of Athletics
FLSA Status: Stipend, part-time position

Job Summary and Duties

Duties include:
- Implement instruction and training programs to prepare student-athletes for competition; this will include plans for experienced and brand-new players
- Collaborate with coaching staff to plan, organize and run daily practices
- Attend all practices and races at the direction of the US Head Cross Country Coach and Director of Athletics
- Supervise student-athletes during all team activities
- Comply with Sacred Heart and sport-specific organization policies and procedures
- Assist in maintaining equipment
- Communicate effectively with parents and students

Typical practice times are:

  • Middle School Season starts September 9th, 3:00-4:15 pm, Monday-Wednesday (occasional Thursday races)
  • Travel with the team for practices and race is required. Qualifications
    The ideal coaching candidate will have experience with the sport at the college level, or equivalent, expertise in teaching sport-specific skills and strategy and the ability to relate and communicate effectively with young women.

    The candidate should be energetic, approachable, knowledgeable, and eager to be an active member of a dynamic athletic and learning community.
