We have an exciting opportunity for a Director of Information Assurance to join our IT Security team in Poway, CA.This position is responsible for leading the strategy, design, development and implementation of corporate information assurance programs and related procedures.

Oversees risk assessment activities and recommends secure application design.
Oversees security issues related to architectures, firewalls, electronic data traffic, and network access.

Oversees the use of encryption technology, penetration and vulnerability analysis of enterprise systems, and findings from information technology security research.

Typically accomplishes objectives through subordinate managers and professional staff.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversees planning and implementation of programs, procedures, and systems to ensure compliance with requirements for unclassified information system processing.
  • Responsible for the resolution of unusually complex data security issues related to architectures, firewalls, electronic data traffic, and network access.
  • Maintains knowledge of applicable policies, regulations, and compliance documents related to unclassified computing assets and environments.
  • Oversees the implementation of company policies, programs, and procedures and ensures periodic self-assessments are conducted.
  • Recommends changes to policies, programs, and procedures as needed and develops, publishes and enforces company information security standards and guidelines.
  • Oversees the distribution of reports and records, including new or revised electronic or hard copy documentation.
  • Makes internal and external presentations to senior level contacts.
  • Represents the company as an expert consultant on data security.
  • Acts as primary contact for data security systems and processes.
  • Consults on the development of current, annual, and long-term data security objectives for the Company.
  • Oversees the planning, attraction, selection, retention, and development of human resources to ensure the availability of required professional and technical talent.
  • Maintains the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for ensuring all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations are observed wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
  • Responsible for ensuring work is accomplished in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
