Position Objective:
Responsible for leading the implementation and utilization of VDC/BIM technology and processes on various construction projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead the process of MEP coordination on multiple construction projects by working closely with Joeris outsourcing partners
Work with Joeris outsourcing partners to create, develop, manage, and maintain 3D BIM models in Revit
Work with project teams to develop and implement VDC and BIM methodologies
Educate project teams and clients about the benefits of Virtual Design and Construction
Provide advice and direction on projects where technologies can be used.
Help to develop VDC/BIM strategies and its implementation plan for the company
Schedule and conduct kick off meetings and coordination meetings
Provide training to the project teams on using BIM Glue
Work with the preconstruction teams to develop simulations, logistics plans, and constructability reports
Use Virtual Reality with software like Enscape to conduct VR tour/experience for customers
Use Laser Scanning for reality capture of existing conditions on projects as required
Assist estimators with model-based cost estimation using Assemble. Provide training as needed.
Fly drones on the projects as needed
Assist marketing team by providing renderings, animations and videos as requested
Pilot new technologies that improves the VDC/BIM processes and services
Additional duties as required
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
2+ years of experience in BIM coordination
Bachelors degree in construction-related field
Course work or experience with BIM emphasis SKILLS
Required proficiency with Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD
Experience in project management and team management
Experience with Enscape and Oculus Rift
Complete understanding of BIM coordination process with experience of BIM Glue
Experience with laser scanners and software like Autodesk Recap
FAA certified to fly drones is a plus Knowledge of Assemble and Sketchup is a plus
Must be able to read drawings, specifications, building codes, and other technical product and material specifications
Must be able to speak, read, and write English
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be capable of remaining in a stationary sitting position, occasionally moving about the office; prolonged standing; occasional lifting (overhead, waist level) from floor; bending/reaching; climbing; balancing; bending; stooping; kneeling; crouching; crawling; handling; feeling; talking; hearing; depth perception; visual accommodation; color vision; field of vision; near acuity; far acuity; and strength. Frequent near vision use for reading and computer use. Ability to lift, move and transport items weighing 20 lbs.
During workweek, or as needed, regular drives between job sites and for meetings with owners, architects, etc.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. May be exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction jobsites: heat; cold; wet and/or humid; proximity to moving mechanical parts; exposure to electric shock; working in high, exposed places; exposure to toxic/caustic chemicals, noise, dust, dirt, mud, vibration, fumes, airborne particles, etc.
